Pedestrian Struck, Critically Injured On Route 46

A 47-year-old woman was in critical condition after she was struck by a car Monday night on Route 46, responders said.

The 47-year-old pedestrian was taken to HUMC after she was struck on westbound Route 46 at Phillips Avenue in South Hackensack shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23.

The driver of the white Nissan hatchback that hit her remained at the scene of the crash in the westbound lanes at Phillips Avenue in South Hackensack shortly before 10:30 p.m.

The victim, believed to be homeless, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Township police, two ALS units from HUMC and a Little Ferry First Aid Corps ambulance crew quickly tended to the victim and got her to the hospital.
